We’re hosting another Tutor Training Workshop this February.
The WQLC is seeking volunteer tutors to help English-speaking adult learners upgrade their reading, writing and numeracy skills. We need volunteers in the Gatineau region to help fill demand for our services!
A WQLC tutor should:
–Have an interest in literacy and/or numeracy
–Be patient, empathetic, open minded and discreet
–Be willing to donate 2 to 4 hours of their time a week
What you’ll learn:
–How to work with adult learners
–Tutoring strategies: how to set learner led goals, how to prepare lessons, how to work with someone experiencing difficulties
–How to make a positive impact on someone’s life through literacy tutoring!
Workshop participants can learn more about our program and services and decide if tutoring adult learners is right for them.
